I'm rotating a picture from landscape to portrait in Gallery-app, then I save it with Gallery tools and copy it to another place. Now I can see this saved picture with the right = saved portrait orientation in Gallery as well as in filemanager thumbs. But when trying to open it again with the file preview, the picture keeps the old = wrong landscape orientation...
I remember having seen this behaviour in an older post here but cannot find it again...
Do you have an advice for me?
Thanks for your answers!

Anything I could do?

You could start by checking if there is already an issue opened in the File Manager issue tracker (link can be found in the Open Store listing of the app).

If there already is an issue opened, you can check if there is additional info that can be added.

If you can code (or are willing to learn) you could jump in and try to solve the issue and open an MR when you have.

Behaviour of Morph and Filemanager view itself is o.k., so the changed orientation (landscape/ portrait) is read correctly by these apps.
Only the preview app has this issue. Anything I could do?

What I also noticed is that even after rotating the image, the width and height in the image information stays the same. So I am guessing that the image is not really rotated but that some metadata is written to it showing how it should be displayed, and that the preview app does not apply that information.

So sorry, you are right...it is not the mediaplayer app which can open pictures...
It is the preview app which opens pictures directly from filemanager. And it is the preview opening the picture in wrong orientation...
Sorry...
