<p dir="auto">In my personal opinion, this is far from fair play, so I ask for comments from community members.</p>

It's mainly because Canonical amd Telegram had some kind of a partnership and there has been a native Telegram app for Ubuntu Touch right from the start. We even have push notifications working until now.</p>
<p dir="auto">Moving to Matrix is ideal but that would mean a need for a good native app and an intentional push and effort.</p>

"Hard" politic put aside, I'm still wondering why an open source community don't use an open source tool.<br />
So why not preferring Mastodon over Telegram?<br />
Every choice we make, such as choosing an open source system like GNU/Linux over blobed or proprietary software, is kind of "politics".</p>
