Even when you swipe from the left, you still have to unlock the phone.</p>

I will have to check out the wifes S6,while she's not looking</p>
<p dir="auto">Yes the S6 does that also,camera functions while locked ,but no access to gallery.<br />
She always has it set to minimum battery use, Google background stuff eats it up.</p>

This is a very useful feature.</p>

the androids i have used ,will let you open the camera app, but not let you take a photo until it is unlocked .</p>

You could try disabling the screen security completely but I for one would not recommend that as a long term solution.</p>
