But it seems that Google is changing security policies and will not allow UT to sync any more with their services. This is the email I received:

"Hello,

Although you do not have to do anything, we want to inform you that it is possible the following applications stop accessing some of the data of your Google Account, such as the content of Gmail. If these applications do not meet the requirements of the new data policy before the stipulated date, they will not be able to access the account after July 15, 2019.

This change is part of our constant efforts to guarantee the privacy and protection of your data.

In the Google Account you can check, manage and delete whenever you want the applications that you have granted access to."

Is there anything that can be done to keep the ability to sync to Google apps?

I have another android device which helps in this. Also though not ideal when setting up my OP3 early on I had to get contacts on by exporting in .vcf format and copying accross and set up a nextcloud account and sync for calendar and notes. There are also apps for android that will sync Caldev with a google calendar. Not ideal as I said but I don't know of any perfect fix. I have not as yet got contacts to sync correctly with nextcloud.

Some suggestions on forums said, it will work, when I remove the google account and then add it again from Settings->Accounts. I did it and now I have no contacts, nor calendar, cause I'm not able to add account due to outdated browser complains.

I downloaded the latest development update and I switched the option on to allow unsecure apps but I still have the same issue. I tried via the contacts - "import contacts from Google" and via system settings - accounts - Google.
I deleted the gmail app I had downloaded so there is nothing installed using my gmail login but am still getting the same message:

Couldn't sign you in
The browser or app may not be secure.
Try using a different browser. If you're already using a supported browser, you can refresh your screen and try again to sign in.

I did notice a minor issue - when you select My Apps under the OpenStore and delete an app the same My Apps tab is selected without the installed apps until you click the same apps tab again.

I will keep trying to find out what else could be causing this.
