Its not a priority because I don't think many people will be asking to get to the "desktop" as opposed to other more pressing issues, or desired features.

You can go github and ask them to implement a home button, in notification bar i.e.

I'm just so used to having a single button to get back to the desktop.

I guess I can swipe and press instead of just press.

I guess not. My device is the OPO, so no physical button.

What do you call the "home" screen?

If that's the old canonical home scope, that is dead since a long time now... And you'll never get it back.

But as i understand, that's not what wants OP, but maybe i'm wrong.
