<![CDATA[Futify (spotify client) need beta testers]]>To thanks OTA12, PinePhone and all this amazing community I want to offer a native qml client for spotify. A missing piece in my point of view for ubtouch. Lot of things need to be done before a 1.0 release (and to be add in open-store) but I need some feedback on what is already done.

So if you are adventurous, and have some time to accord to Futify please install it and give some love 😉

Installation :

Please, open issues directly in repo (more easy to triage). If en issue or a feature is already added please add a 👍 on it like that I can more easily prioritize what should be done in first.

Please 2, open it with dark theme set with UT-Tweak (I love it like that... but some users prefer default theme and an issue already exist).

Futify does not connect anymore, and, what is worse, Spotify considers it a be a security risk. Yesterday I tried to use futify and to log in with my username and password without success; today I got an email telling me that the had to reset my password because of "suspisious activities". So, it just doesn't work anymore.

I've managed to turn my tablet into a hacky always on spotify wifi receiver using librespot in a libertine container, would be also nice if I could control it directly from that tablet, not just from other devices

If you speak a second language, please consider adding it in futify before the next release 🙏

To do it you need to copy en_EN.ts from https://gitlab.com/frenchutouch/futify/-/tree/master/i18n rename into YOUR_CODE.ts and translate all target balise in it. Then make a merge-request. Tha's all :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

And please don't forget to add your ♥ in open-store for Futify! It have only 6 ♥ we need to increase that as soon as possible :flexed_biceps:

Just need time! The data is not cached but it should be easy to add an in memory buffer, please open an issue in gitlab to follow this topic 😉

@thierry83 "minutes" seems really to big. No song are pre-downloaded so the app does nothing when you click on play. Maybe the first song is really long to download. When you click on "play", futify create a playlist in media-hub and media-hub start to download first song, when there are some bytes of song, it play it.

just one annoying point, when you click to play a playlist, it takes minutes before starting and you think it doesn't work. Maybe it download everthing before playing?

You need to make futify unsuspendable in UTTT. Because in UT all apps are "stopped" when phone is sleeping (to economize battery). Download "UT tweak tool" in the store. Search futify in apps and select "unsuspendable" 😉

About the sleep feature, can you explain a bit more what you have in mind please? Or better open a ticket in https://gitlab.com/frenchutouch/futify/-/issues if you can/want 😉

Talking about features, I am not sure how feasible a sleep function is, but as someone that enjoys playing music while falling sleep, I think it would be a great addition, it would also be a good idea to display the app version on the about section of the app just to make easy to find this info for debug or inputs coming from testers.

It seems a tad laggy on the UBports Pixel 3aXL but im sure that will mature with time.
It also weirdly took a while before it would actually play anything. i had to exit out and go back in for it to work. same thing happened when I tried to log in for the first time.
i see that some of my playlists are not showing in the top bar as well so i had to search for it to play.
Apart from those, it seems to be running quite well. thanks for the app!

I have a little regression with new mediahub: when futify is closed song continu to play. Depending on the amount of downloaded songs, could be long. Workaround is: clear queue before stopping app. Not ideal but a reall fix will come.

About the dropped stream the reall fix should be https://github.com/ubports/media-hub/issues/16 but I can also implement a workaround in futify even if with new mediahub i can't reproduce the issue. Anyone can reproduce the bug with latest futify and latest ubtouch?
