I bought an Aquaris M10 Ubuntu edition long ago, and upgraded it to UBPorts when Jan Sprinz (I think ?) and his team came to the Ubucon.
I haven't used it much anyway, one of the reason being that under UbuntuTouch it required a UbuntuOne account to install anything (and yes UbuntuOne accounts were deprecated but it still required one).
I fired it up a few weeks ago and found that the OpenStore had only a blank page, so I can't install any application.
And this even after I updated the OS to the latest UBPorts version.
I'd rather use apt-get since I bought a Ubuntu edition tablet in order to have a Linux tablet, but everybody told me that I shouldn't do it and use the store instead.
But if the store is unusable it means that the tablet is now of very limited use, especially since the default web browser is awful (no adblock or NoScript equivalent, for instance).

So is there a solution to fix that ?

You might be better served opening a new thread, as your issue seems to be different to the OP's. (We can't really know for sure, as the OP never got back to this thread)

If no updates are available to install, you would need to use the UBports Installer to get up to date on 16.04. If you do not select the wipe option, your applications and data will not be overwritten.
You are encouraged to reinstall all your applications after the upgrade. This is possible from the Settings app, under Updates -> Update settings -> Reinstall all apps.

Concerning your desire to use apt on the command line: Ubuntu Touch is not primarily designed to be a desktop-linux-in-your-pocket OS. It wants to focus on security, stability and optimization for mobile devices as well as aiming to be usable with the attachment of bigger screens, keyboards and mice.
For installing applications with apt, Libertine is provided. But for different reasons not all applications installed in this way work as well, if at all on your mobile device.

If you updated to the latest stable ubports, wich is OTA-12, then it comes with a fully fonctionnal OpenStore app.

So i don't know what's your problem here...

Oh and OpenStore never required ubuntu one account tu use it, only canonical store required that.

@<bdi>LienRag</bdi> said in OpenStore empty:

Old way manner : using terminal to install last open store click maybe? : https://open-store.io/app/openstore.openstore-team

pkcon install-local --allow-untrusted openstore.openstore-team_latest_armhf.click

But like i said, you should be able to use openstore with OTA-12...
