I'm afraid I don't have experience with chroot, but what I have read sounds promising <img src="https://forums.ubports.com/assets/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f642.png?v=e9f7455a4ac" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji--slightly_smiling_face" style="height:23px;width:auto;vertical-align:middle" title=":-)" alt="🙂" /> Some questions remain, but I feel I should gain some experience before asking them here. I will experiment with this <img src="https://forums.ubports.com/assets/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f642.png?v=e9f7455a4ac" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji--slightly_smiling_face" style="height:23px;width:auto;vertical-align:middle" title=":-)" alt="🙂" /></p>

<p dir="auto">That's an easy one :-)Terminal, with a full ability to use apt-get to install and update packages, without the hacky solution of disabling write protection on the system.<br />

<p dir="auto">This is easy. Create a chroot system and there you can install and compile anything you like. You can even launch applications from outside the chrooted system when setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH accordingly so the application can see needed shared libs, etc.</p>

<p dir="auto">Convergence, to me, is less about being able to connect a display, mouse and keyboard (though that would be nice), and more about having the same unfettered access to the command line and traditional linux package management as I do on the desktop <img src="https://forums.ubports.com/assets/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f642.png?v=e9f7455a4ac" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji--slightly_smiling_face" style="height:23px;width:auto;vertical-align:middle" title=":-)" alt="🙂" /></p>
<p dir="auto">FWIW, I just installed this for the first time, but the first thing I did was research how to get apt-get working <img src="https://forums.ubports.com/assets/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f609.png?v=e9f7455a4ac" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji--wink" style="height:23px;width:auto;vertical-align:middle" title=";-)" alt="😉" /> Among users of a Linux phone, I imagine there must be more people like me <img src="https://forums.ubports.com/assets/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f642.png?v=e9f7455a4ac" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji--slightly_smiling_face" style="height:23px;width:auto;vertical-align:middle" title=":-)" alt="🙂" /></p>

I would somehow prefer a comunication program: SMS, Signal, Telegram, mails,calenders....all unified in one good program with the ability of making a backup.<br />
I would like to reduce this stupid app-mess of smartphones that apple and google created.</p>

<ul>
<li>Notifications for all services</li>
<li>Supporting uMatriks development so that it will be usefull like riot on Android</li>
<li>new web browser</li>
<li>support super groups in telegram app</li>
