<![CDATA[Read-only file sytem error.]]>I recently installed Ubuntu Touch on a OnePlus One phone. Everything seems to be working fine I can install apps via the store and they work. However I want to be able to edit my hosts file and even with root access I still cannot because I get an error "Read-only file system" Also from terminal if I type "sudo apt-get update" I get "Read-only file system" errors. How do I solve this issue.

Is this an error or is Ubuntu Touch set up this way for security and if so how can I just temporarily make it so that I can edit my hosts file or replace it with one I've already made on my computer.

This is what i get when I try to change the build.prop file.

Doesnt matter if I change the permissions with sudo or not. IT just always tells me it is a read only file system. How do I make this a writeable file system.

Any ideas.

You can choose to install or not last updates in any channel.

To mark the thread as solved.
First you'll have to go to the gear icon menu and select "ask a question" then go back to this menu and the option to "mark as solved" will be available.

I've been searching different forums and this worked perfectly!!! I made sure I chose the option that it will be back to read-only after reboot but now I have some sites blocked that I want blocked in my hosts file.

As for apt it's not advised for the reasons you suggest.
