  • Liberapay is a free software as UBports Ubuntu Touch; so it's consistent.
  • Liberapay is supported by a non profit organisation (liberapay association) as UBports Foundation will be; again it will be consistent.
  • Liberapay is free to use as UBports, no charge for the platform itself; ...
  • Liberapay uses euros (€) as payment currency; more than 80% of UBports users are currently europeans (cf http://stats.ubports.com). So they need the possibility to donate in euros; it's easier, cheaper and still consistent.
  • Very small donations are possible. It's consistent with a community spirit where everyone is able to participate.

    • So UBport Team, it is time to act. It's rapid to do and to operate in the long run.
    And I am convinced you will find you very happy to increase so easily the UBports project consistency 🙂

    IMHO, If the ethical reasons are first for you, points 1. and 2. of my first post, then the choice of Liberapay should prevail.
    Similarly, if economic rationality, point 3. and 4. predominates and the euro costs you less.
    We can hope that there will be visibility for donations via Liberapay in a future, if my request to promote this system in the same way as others is taken into account.

    In other cases, it may make sense to use other means of giving.

You see, asuming Patreon has more visibility and people now move to Liberapay it might look odd for newcomers as the will look into Patreon only, no?
    Althoug opening up to Liberapay is in my point of view essential due to the nature / idea of this funding page, I am a bit hesistant to move donation to it and therefore dropping of Patreon.

    Your are right, sorry for the approximation: more than 80% UBports users are currently europeans but only 64,8 % of current UBports users are citizens of countries where euro is the legal currency.
