It allows for 10 years of updates from Ubuntu 16.04 LTS onwards. Is it possible to enable it on older  Ubuntu Touch devices, which will cannot be upgraded to Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, so that they get security updates for the next years on? If yes, then how to do it?</p>

<p dir="auto">I don't know about 20.04 because 20.04 still has security updates for more than two years but time flies. For now I will conclude only for 16.04 regarding ESM and branch arm. But I had the same thought as you.. And if there was no ESM at all for the arm branch, it would force to stick closer to UT in time to LTS updates....</p>
