<![CDATA[Camera app hanging....]]>Has anyone got issues with the Google Pixel 3a camera app hanging, i.e. it doesn't open at all, just hangs with the rolling circle at start up. I have removed and reinstalled the app.

This has happened after the upgrade to OTA-24 on 16.04.

However, upgraded to the RC of 20.04 and camera works fine. Battery life still poor (but that may be my device).

I am experiencing this on Fairphone 3 as well. In random pattern there are 3 things that happen:

  • camera app starts normally
  • camera app complains about not having permissions
    • can be solved by simply restarting app and everything works then
  • camera app hangs on black screen after ending splash screen and needs to be ended
    • after that whenever I try to start camera app it hangs on splash screen with it forever loading

After upgrading to OTA-24, the camera shows a revolving circle and stays like that.
I also had tried to reinstall the camera app, but that did not fix the problem.
My phone is a Pixel 3a.
