<p dir="auto">The expected release date for Ubuntu Touch OTA-25 is Friday, March 24th 2023. Note that this is <strong>the last release of an OTA for xenial!</strong></p>
<p dir="auto">This forum post is a companion to the OTA-25 Call For Testing</p>
<p dir="auto">Please post any general observations you have while testing the current image in the RC channel, as compared to OTA-24, in this thread. The current release candidate (RC) is 2023-W11.</p>

It starts booting then seems to stop after the initial splash screen, sometimes after the next splash. Then I have to shut it down and restart. Usually the second time around it will boot properly.<br />
I'm considering switching to stable to see if that fixes the problem. I'll post here if it worked.</p>

<p dir="auto">Since the last updates on RC channel (currently 2023-W12/3) my Sony Xperia X Compact (F5321) more often than not won't boot up properly.<br />
Especially when cold booting it often, but not always, shows like this:<br />
Sony boot loader warning → Sony boot logo → Ubuntu Touch boot logo (&lt; 1 s) → black screen<br />
A forced reboot might then work or will also hang at different points (Sony boot logo, black screen, or automatic reboot).</p>
<p dir="auto">I've had boot up issues in the past with this device, but it definitely has gotten worse for me since the new updates.</p>

I`m facing the same problem after uploading to RC 2023-W11 on Meizu MX4. Today I updated to RC 2023-W12. The problem while booting still exists. I also got a black screen as described above. After rebooting again the phone starts normally. Thanks for helping.</p>
