I am playing with a newly installed ubuntu touch (focal) on a Pinephone64.

I am having trouble with my SIM-card, though. It has been detected alright and I have unlocked it. I can now browse the internet over mobile data.

But the dialer app still says the SIM card is locked. (And indeed there is an 'L' in one of the symbols in the top bar, although I do not know if that indicates a somehow locked SIM card...)

All in all, my SIM card is apparently unlocked for data, but not for calls? I do not see any option to unlock the SIM card again.

How would I proceed from here?

Thanks in advance!

I am in Germany, but I guess it is the still instable modem in PP. After a reboot the SIM card not even recognized at all.
(I followed the mentioned blog to get ubuntu touch installed, but did not consider these symptoms of an 'unstable modem'...)

EDIT. The L on the top bar indicates a 4G connection, which is also known as, 'LTE' hence the L symbol.
