<p dir="auto">Hi. I read in this article  that installing Ubuntu on most android phones will not replace the android os, but simply build on top of it.<br />

<p dir="auto">Is that accurate? I got a google pixel 3a with the plan to put ubuntu on it, but I only want to do this if it will actually totally remove the android os</p>

<p dir="auto">UT does replace the Android OS, however the same vendor blobs containing the hardware drivers are retained in a container in order be able to  communicate with the device hardware.</p>
