    • RE: Windows 10 Tablet

Thanks for this. I'm probably going to go quiet for a bit but I'll be back. Got a trip to make and some reading to do.

Now I know how to start the next problem is probably going to be making enough space for a side by side implementation. It's a good point though.

    • RE: Windows 10 Tablet

Hi, thanks guys. Now the bad news - I am an old git who is perfectly happy messing about with computers from a high level point of view, in fact I was doing it as a systems analyst/project manager for my whole working life, but by your standards my technical knowledge is somewhere between low and non existent. This is going to be a very steep learning curve.

      My tablet is as follows:
      Manufacturer: TMAX
      Model: TM800W610L Signature Edition
      Processor: Intel Atom x5-Z8300
      Ram: 2 GB
      Touch: 10 touch points
      Product I.D. 00325-85344-42114-AAOEM

My first thought is to put XUbuntu on it, because it is light, and I like it. Any comments on that would be welcome.

But the first question is how do I start. It's not like going into the bios and getting it to boot from a memory stick.

I'm going to do this. Help will be appreciated.

    • Windows 10 Tablet

I came to this forum innocently because I have an old NuVision tablet running Windows 10. It's not a lot of use to me because it doesn't have the guts or the space for Windows 10, but I wondered if some flavour of Ubuntu would fit it yet. From what I've read so far this team is not trying for clean installs yet, you need a phone of tablet that already has a Linux kernal, so it seems an ex windows device is out.
If anybody is interested in this area I'd be interested to hear. After all, if a Ubuntu phone/tablet project is to have a long term future it's going to have to get into new builds eventually.
