@Flohack I've got an old Angler lying around and would be happy to lend a hand
Ok so 3 people alredy, great. Will start putting out instructions today probably.
I'd like to help out here too, assuming there is still room.
I'm in also, have a spare angler
Yes guys! 5 people are here, we can start with the test. First let me add new things that work:
- Mobile data (always at 2G, doesnt go to 4G immediately)
I will try to set up a download for the needed image files so you can flash them.
We will track installation progress for all of you here: https://pad.ubports.com/p/nexus-6p-alphatesting - Please set a name for your writing color on the top right, so that I know who wrote what
I made a first task for you there: Installing the right recovery.
I just replied there with my info (I appear to be pink on my side), but where do we get the special recovery from?
@wbrawner I added the link into the pad now If it does not work, I can send mine from home. Please use that recovery and try to go below 20% to see if it would reboot or shutdown.
@Flohack Thanks, I'll give that a shot!
@Flohack so I flashed the special TWRP and disabled the screen dimming so that the battery would just drain until it died. The percentage dropped to 0% and stayed there a while before the percentage just disappeared altogether. O had to leave for work but the phone still hadn't turned off by that point.
@wbrawner Sounds interesting, isn´t it ^^
Got recovery installed, ready to go for the next step
I am nearly done with preparations and uploading. But I found we can only use 32bit rootfs for the moment, so I am finishing this now. Should be ready in 20mins...
Ok we are good to go! 32bit ARMHF image confirmed to work here.
Can the halium-install script be run on osx?
@kodaxx Oh I have to ask, but I see those dependencies:
I am not sure you will be able to have commands from those packages avaiable in OSX.

@kodaxx The problem is that the images must be mounted (ext4 file system), converted from sparse to full image for the system.img etc. Those things might be specific. On the other hand, if you can build Android on Mac, maybe, then this tools could be available. Otherwise maybe you can try a virtual machine with Ubuntu?
