LIBERTINE

@marathon2422 which device are you on. My bq 5 is setting up the container. Seems very easy so far just waiting for process to finish. The bq was set up with wipe to 16.04
The nexus 5 is different no set up just states applications. Have you clicked on the settings icon, manage container update. The nexus was not wipe set up and already had libertine onit. Which did not work on vivid.
Both still updating so will get back to you -
I can see the container now and even firefox and libreoffice in the system settings, but legacy app scope is empty
16.04 dev with wipe -
@lakotaubp
i am on bqm10fhd 16.04 2018-07-03
i have made another container, in case it made a dfference.
no more yet. -
@killerbee which device are you on. If nexus 5 I don't know if its fixed from 15.04 yet. Have you tried updating the container.
Maybe @advocatux will have the answers as to whats working or not -
BQ m10fhd is the device
-
@lakotaubp libertine works on Nexus 5 running xenial but we're waiting for the fixed scope release.
-
@advocatux Thanks again for the update : )
-
@marathon2422 can you add apps to the new container ?
-
@lakotaubp the libertine GUI needs a lot of improvement but you can install packages now in a sort of weird way.
If you search for a package, and you see it's available, you have to use "Enter package name or Debian file" and you can install it.
BTW the "OK" button doesn't work, you need to press the enter key on the keyboard.
-
@advocatux Thanks again. Only tried via terminal and that didn't work. So will try again
-
@lakotaubp how are you trying via terminal exactly and what command are you using? It should work.
I assume you've have read https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/userguide/dailyuse/libertine.html but I want to link that documentation here for the benefit of those who come to this thread looking for an answer
-
@advocatux Yes tried that get a dpkg error to fix run dpkg --configure -a then it can't access dpkg.
This is on Bq 5. When started Libertine gets as far as reading package lists then dpkg interrupted.
Of to work now so will try laterEdit tried with
-p package name,
-i container id -p package name
And -p package name -i container idedit two
still not working bq 5 dpkg interrupted
nexus 5 same commands installed pkgEdit Three 05/07
Have worked out the issue. Bearing in mind all of this is done trying out the new Libertine settings in 16.04 as is today. When creating the container from system settings Libertine, sometimes the container finishes the setup on its own then you have no problems. On others the setup hangs for hours with spinning circle and the container name showing on Libertine page. If you tap on the container name you can then use container settings to manage the container and update it. This stops the spinning wheel and all seems fine. until you try and install apps and get a dpkg error message.
This is for info only and only refers to using your device and Libertine settings and terminal on it today as no doubt things will change. -
@advocatux Have got the container set up and apparently installed Firefox but nothing is showing in the scope on a M10 FDH with 16.04RC
-
@dave1152000 Hi, There is still a bit of work needed to get the scope working correctly, from what I've heard.
-
any command line way of starting the fox?
-
@lakotaubp
I had a play around,I think we are,trying to be ahead of the game, and should be patient and let the guys finish fixing the scope. -
@marathon2422 yes I agree. Still it's nice to know how far things have come on, and what's improving on a daily basis. Big thanks to everyone involved in the progress towards 16.04 stable.
-
@killerbee You have to:
1-libertine-container-manager list-apps (with this you will see a list of the current installed apps
Then
2-ubuntu-app-launch packagename (for example, ubuntu-app-launch xenial_thunderbird_0.0)
3-after launching the app you can pin down in the launcher bar so you can access the app more straightforward -
@malditobastardo
This worked for me with ' Gimp '
Thanks -
Cool starting "works" however results are not too enjoyable. Interested in errors?
Like Firefox crashes and Libreoffice has some issues with detecting correct mouse position / responsiveness...
No Offense meant here, I am fully aware of your braveness and that we are on the edge here (or even beforebr and KUDOS
