    • RE: Call for testing: Updated Pulseaudio & better Bluetooth headset support

I tried this on my Pro5 rc channel with Nokia J headset - without high quality audio mode. The headset finally has call audio and both speaker and microphone work but there is so much noise that it makes it unusable. I sent you the logs.

Needless to say, a very big thank you for all your work!!! I am amazed that this is finally going somewhere... I was waiting this moment for maybe 4 years...

I am also interested in this. Maybe this could be added like a customization of shortcuts... like in a desktop OS - since not all the phones have the same physical buttons.

    • RE: Can I get banned for using whatsapp in anbox?

@arubislander Well, I just disable anbox after checking my whats app so that the battery would not drain. And I don't have notifications from whats app. I cannot see videos or gifs. So for texts and images is great. Oh, I cannot open links or copy paste from whats app to UT.

    • RE: Mail Client

I just want to thank @DanChapman for the great work on Dekko! I am so glad that he started again the work on the click package - we need it very much!

Regarding a confirmation dialog for deleting a message I just wanted to share that I am very pleased with the current behavior without a confirmation dialog but it displays an undo button. So, in order to please everybody, maybe there could be a switch in setting whether to ask for confirmation or not before deleting a message.

      Thank you again.

I made it work... According to https://bileto.ubuntu.com/#/ticket/2162, I changed the line from /{,var/}run/aethercast/dhclient*.leases lrw, to /run/aethercast/dhclient*.leases lrw, and then voila! Thank you @Ingo for pointing me into the right direction.

    • RE: Development testers for Anbox

@tricky In my very poor understanding, somehow the anbox-tool does not reflect the state of the android container. So, the android apps can still work even though anbox-tool status says that is not running. For me, the true way to find if the android container is not running is to try to login into it with sudo lxc-console -ndefault -P /home/phablet/anbox-data/containers -t0 - when it's running I can login and when it's not then it says so. Why would I need that? - because if an android app does not start then I need to find if it's because of the android container not running, in which case I don't know how to start it except by a reboot of the phone 😞

Maybe @mariogrip could help us with the command to start the android container? 🙂

    • RE: click on notification bubble

      @gpatel-fr Great find!

I don't know where to search but maybe we need to inspect the code in the OS for handling the bubble.

Some time ago I had to write a service worker for browsers and I had to specifically program what it is done when a notification is clicked.

    • RE: click on notification bubble

@CiberSheep That could actually work as a workaround solution: to disable bubbles and enable notifications sound: this way I am notified that there is a new message / email but I don't have to wait for the bubble to disappear before I scroll down the notifications list and click on the notification. However, this introduces an extra step: to turn on the screen by pressing the power button.

What I was looking for is a simple, direct, straight forward way of being notified and then opening that specific app.

I also have to explain a detail about my context: I don't have a passcode or fingerprint reader enabled, so I don't have these extra steps of unlocking the phone.

    • RE: click on notification bubble

So just speaking from the user point of view, not developer:

Right now, there is a notification bubble that the user can interact with by swiping it away and this notification bubble also has a time out - it disappears by itself.

Then, there is the notification in the notification list - this notification has a "load" - like info about what app to open and some other info that is passed to the app. The user can interact with this notification by tapping on it - then the UI opens that specific app and passes that specific info to the app.

My question is: can't the "load" be included in the notification bubble as well? And then the UI adds the possibility for the user to interact with the bubble by tapping on it.

    • RE: [Alpha] Greenline - A qml Whatsapp client for Ubuntu Touch

@brenno.almeida Amazing work, thank you so much!

One thing I noticed - and I don't think it has only started in this latest version - is that if I open a conversation from the app and not from the notification then the notification doesn't dissapear - I think I remember it used to.

    • RE: click on notification bubble

@gpatel-fr Yes, I think talking about this in a forum is healthy and helps me (maybe others too) understand what others are thinking because it may not in the end be something that is desired...

I guess my first intention in asking the initial question was to see if this is an expected behaviour or it was rather supposed to work and it doesn't anymore.

So I understand that it was never meant (yet) to work this way - to click on the bubble and open the app that the bubble reffers to.

Then, I guess, I tried to ask if this is something that would be desired.

Then, I guess again, in case that would be a good idea, it would be the question if that is something that can be done.

    • click on notification bubble

The click on notification bubble doesn't work - is it a bug or a feature? 🙂

      • I mean was it never intended to work?
      • or was it not programmed yet to work?
      • or it was working and now it's broken?

This is something that I find it would be very helpful - to be able to open the app imediately when I click on the bubble.

Right now I have to wait for the bubble to dissapear, I open to top scroll-down menu and I click on the notification to open the specific app: eg. Dekko, Greenline.

    • RE: Changing Message sound requires restart?

@gpatel-fr I just tested it now with sms and it works - it uses the new selected Meesage sound.

So it is only for notifications from apps (like Dekko, Greenline) that the Message sound is not updated unless a reboot.

It starts to sound more like a bug?
