So if you choose Google instead of IMAP it bypasses whatever issue it has, and you can enter the information manually.

Remember that this does not affect calls. Its only about mobile data, so the only thing you need to have on the radar is the fact if your device is 4G-capable. Ubuntu Touch will continue to work as today. Only removal of 2G will require VoLTE-capable devices and operating system.

OK, so not a PPA actually, just a repo on OBS. So what exactly are you having trouble with there? You just need to do it inside a shell started with libertine-container-manager exec bash and remove the usage of sudo from the commands. But I presume it will then give you an error about there being no Packages or such for the architecture, when you do the apt update.

@nontrivial People will try to help if they can. Anbox is not Ubuntu Touch specific, but there are specific issues with Ubuntu Touch, so I gues this is a right place

So cool! However it seems really hard to install, and I even read that some people had troubles afterwards and had to restore the whole UT until they reinstalled Anbox. I don't really want to have to do that.

@nontrivial said in Hypothetically run UT apps on regular Ubuntu 18.04?: but is it on the todo list at all? The list is extremely long and ever-growing, as the rest of the world continues to change in different ways around UT. @nontrivial said in Hypothetically run UT apps on regular Ubuntu 18.04?: Once I have a click how would I install it on my desktop? Is there an equivalent to "dpkg -i" ? You need to get https://github.com/ubports/click installed first, and then you can use click to install a package. Though, with other things missing on Ubuntu it may not get you very far.

As for me, I lost my password. every time I generate one they never send me the email. it's a shame the app doesn't bother to change his app.

@nontrivial said in Ubuntu Touch Mainline Generic amd64 Issue: Download latest ubuntu-touch-mainline-generic-amd64.img.xz file from https://ci.ubports.com/job/rootfs/job/rootfs-generic-amd64/ Uncompress it with unxz Convert to VirtualBox VDI disk image: VBoxManage convertdd disk.img disk.vdi The boot process appears to hang on "Starting virtual private network daemon". By the way, I know this is a thread from four years ago, but if you web search running UBports image in VirtualBox, it leads here, so I thought I would update it to help the next person save some time... After you run the convert line: $ VBoxManage convertfromraw /home/alaskalinuxuser/snap/utqemu/common/ubuntu-touch-mainline-generic-amd64.img ./ubports.vdi --format vdi And you try to launch it in VirtualBox, you will still hang at Starting virtual private network daemon, but the real issue is the graphic card settings, as @hacker1024 pointed out, but didn't offer the solution. What worked for me was: Display settings in VB: Video Memory 32 MB Graphics Controller VMSVGA Enable 3D acceleration RDS and Recording (don't matter, but I use) disabled. Setting the RAM to 1536MB and using the converted VDI drive seems to work great for me. Hopefully that helps the next person....

@kugiigi Yes, but I haven't done writing data to a SQL yet. I'll do something smart for it and create a script for myself. I thought there was another solution to this. If someone has already created a playlist import for the music app, it would be nice if it could be posted here. Thanks!

That certainly sounds exactly like my issue, but I don't know what you mean tagged. Is that a google thing or a UT thing? I did notice that when I logged into my google account that all my contacts are duplicated, so the sync is working. I haven't merged them because I suspect my contacts will disappear off my phone if I do that. BTW, I've been using UT for a week now and I think I'll keep it for a while. I have some issues but no show stoppers.
