Have there been any update at all since OTA-15 about two weeks ago? I'd say that the security updates have been nixed after OTA-15 at all. I don't believe we'll see an official OTA-16 in June.

So in fact it's nothing new.

This is not really news, it has been known for a while (and more or less expected since the big announcement).

We yet have to work out how this all will go down, but we already set up an experimental fork of the OpenStore that is likely going to be used as a replacement for the current click store. How exactly this will work is yet to be decided.

@Mitu I like to know more about that app store. Would Canonical allow that? If so, does everyone need to update their phones or they just simply need to install that on their phones to be able to use it?

@Rafale07 The article which you have posted also says following,

‘The Ubuntu Store, the only official place to get apps from, is to close at the end of the year’

Don't panic everyone, end of year is still a long way to go. We can still use the official store until then and we will probably keep it in the first release of the legacy branch, that is yet to be decided and depends on how the work on the openstore comes along. Since we are a small team, we have to set some priorities and keeping the Ubuntu click store (at least for now) helps take some pressure away...

The @Developers are currently working out a public development roadmap, so we'll know more soon. 🙂

@nikhilbhalwankar Yes it will be close, but my concern is about how will the community help build an app store for the U-phone and tablet users.

@Rafale07 We are currently testing already on the new Openstore. Things are coming a good way I think. We´ll improve categories, auto-approval of confined Apps, and the phone App to be really useful. Already now you can even upgrade official Apps if they were put in the Openstore. Try Telegram!
