Nexus 5 / Hammerhead battery boost? Disable auto-rotate & reboot for slower drain.
-
In case this helps the devs or someone here, I thought it good to submit my observations.
I noticed that, when idle, my Nexus 5 (with the latest 15.04/stable) had a pair of 4%-cpu-consuming background processes:
- /system/bin/sensorservice Binder_2
- sensors.qcom
Following the advice of these Android posts:
- turn off auto-rotate
- https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2546645
- must reboot "a couple of times"
... I disabled auto-rotate & rebooted... the process then settled out rather quickly, and (I imagine) my battery will last longer.
Hopefully someone might find this helpful.
