Why is Media player not shown as a standalone app?

I was wondering why is Media player not shown as a standalone app and only when trying to play some video file? Could that be changed to show it as default as the other apps like Music player for example?

@Stefano Good point, there is no core app called "media player" I think - Can you please file this on Github, thx
