GhostCloud on Fairphone 2: impossible to add an account
-
Hi everybody,
I have several times tried to install the app GhostCloud to access my personal cloud on a local server. But since at least one year it is impossible to add the respective account to GhostCloud. There is simply no way to define the account within the app. What is wrong or what am I doing wrong?
Thanks for a hint.Technical details: Fairphone 2 with Ubuntu 16.04/OTA-22

@unaegeli As far as I know, GhostCloud is now using the accounts, which you can configure within system-settings... so just try to add you nextcloud account there and then restart GhostCloud.
-
@luksus Thanks, but this is what I am trying all the time but it won't accept the already defined account...
-
@unaegeli I just took out my old FP2 and tried it... indeed it works not in the first place, but did you try to click on your just created account in settings app? There you can grant access for the GhostCloud app.
-
@luksus Yes, I did -- no reaction. The already defined account in the settings is not recognized by HhostCloud..
-
@unaegeli hmmm, maybe try to delete app config and cache data, using the UT Tweak Tool?
-
@luksus ...I did that now about 20 times, deinstall, reinstall, deinstall, reinstall.
The fact is, neither Ghostcloud nor UBSync are working properly. Without acces to my ownCloud account, this OS is simply useless for me. And nobody seems to care about it (but they can ask prior to installation for donations... No thanks!).
Fare well then, sorry.

@unaegeli next time, just answer after you first try, not after twenty ones and two month.
So, did you use UT tweak tool to remove cache and config data?
Maybe Ghostcloud only works for Nextcloud instances?
As you are mentioning UBsync, did you check logs? Try the the LogViewer App.
Maybe its an issue regarding server certificates?
You should use a public one like lets encrypt. We could test your FP2 using my personal nextcloud instance. Let me know, if you want to investigate this any further.
