That's great to hear! I'll have to give dev-rc-proposed a try. Thanks!

I flashed devel rc proposed. WIFI could not connect to network with passcode. After several reboots it finally connected. Data connection does not work. Browser works and does not crash.

I can call, receive sms, use camera etc.

So I have to wait when 3g connection is fixed

Can confirm that on stable installed today via UBports that Browser and many other apps still will not open or run.
Interesting though as I tried to use a few channels and they all resulted in the same faults. No apps would start other than calculator. It is such a shame as I really really love the look and feel how Ubuntu Touch works on this Nexus. Used to have it on a Nexus 4 when it was a little less buggy.

However hats off to you Marius for all the work you and all the others have put in to this. I had to reflash Android back on as I need a little functionality other than SMS 🙂

However what is odd is how much is or seems broken on these on my Nexus...the sound is gone and obvious the bluetooth is bust but I expected that with the notes you have provided. What is less clear is why the battery drain is so huuuuuuge and all the issues with power off/on.

How did you resolve these on your daily driver. Is it just an older image that was more reliable or just me?

Anyway thanks for the work so far. I will stay involved and contribute some cash as I really appreciate the work so far on this.

                What is really good is:
                Website and wiki
                Installation process
The look and feel of what does work

So it makes it something I want to come back to with a reliable build. I remember when testing Chromium OS a few years ago there was a way to mark a build that are extra strong and reliable. Would this be possible or would it take resources?

                Andy

I got my Nexus 4 then 5 then FP2 then one plus cooking on #UBUNTU via @ubports and have run it on Op3T Op6t OP5T Pinephone/Pro Pine Tab and Pinebook Pro and my favourite OnePlus One.

@mixmoto read the topic. Stable is unstable. Check rc_devel-proposed.

                        Wifi encrypction doesn't work.

@Tomacaster thanks I know but for the moment stable (like 10) are the only channel with full phone hardware working ( not sure about BT).. for example if I install last devel stable I haven't got mobile data working.. I want Ubuntu for daily use on my Nexus 5!!!

I ended up installing ubuntu touch stable today to my nexus 5 (hammerhead) with
                            https://github.com/MariusQuabeck/magic-device-tool

                            and I got ubuntu 15.04 (r13) (20170127-093441 / 20160603- )

and if I start the browser in phone it crashes at once. That is pretty bad.

I have noticed that the there is OTA-15 out, but I guess that the magic-device-tool did not give me that version. Or did it, how I can check it ?

And does anyone know if magic-device-tool images will be updated in near future ?
