not receiving SMS Pixel 3a

Hi guys,
I installed Ubuntu Touch on my Pixel 3a 2 days ago and everything was running smooth, I could send and receive sms, make calls, install waydroid and so on (I haven't managed to find my localization on maps yet, but that's another issue for another post).
However, today I wanted to install Youtube app and wanted to log in with my gmail account. It asked me to send the code by SMS and I accepted it. I didn't receive anything... I tried multiple times, nothing. I tried to send SMS with my other device, nothing as well. I'm able to send messages though, but I'm not receiving any kind of SMS.
I'm trying to troubleshoot right now and I rebooted my portable multiple times, switched to 2G, Flight mode and so on. Nothing seems to make it work.
I live in France and my operator is called "Free".
Does anyone know how to fix it? I need SMS to shop online (I receive the code to valid my credit card) and to work with Paypal. Thanks in advance!

Are you on stable, 16.04 ?.
If not can you switch to devel to give a try ?
Best would be on 20.04 as it is nearly ready ( devel ) -
@lduboeuf I am not OP but I just did a clean install on my Pixel 3a XL and also have no sms or mms working.
I can send sms and they do get the message but no messages are received by my phone.
I have changed the MMS and internet APN settings, restarted and other alternatives but I cannot find a solution to this.
Anyone has any suggestions? Like @Elioneto , I need to receive SMS in order to validate 2FA, Bank and other services. If I cannot figure it out, I might have to reinstall Android on this phone, which would be a shame.

@oden could you check with latest devel ?
SMS is ok since about a week for me. I still do have issue on reconnection after long period flight mode, but more rarely.
MMS is working also ( without wifi ) -
