        Hello everyone,

I just bought a Volla Phone 22 with Ubuntu.
Finally not being very comfortable with this new system, I would like to test Volla OS in dual boot.

I found some info in the FAQ: which says to do :
Call up the entry "System", "Advanced" and "Volla Boot Manager".

Except that in the parameters / system / there's no "avanced" or "Volla Boot Manager".

Can anyone tell me what to do, I'd love to be able to use this phone!
        Thanks in advance,
        Claudine

          @claudine:

This refers to the Volla OS, which is not on your phone.

People have done this, but it is not easy if I recall correctly.

You can contact Volla support who can reflash your phone to a dual boot setup.

BTW: If you have a dual boot phone, remember to never update any of the OSes from within the OS; only the Volla Boot Manager will be ok for this.

          VollaPhone22 (dual-boot of VollaOS and UT 20.04 OTA-5), Pocophone F1 (pmOS, edge)

Thank you very much sven, I'll contact Volla.

And thank again for the advice about updating, I was totally unaware of this.

            sincerely,
            Claudine

Helpful information about MultiBoot on a Volla Phone 22 is available in the Volla Blog https://volla.online/en/blog/ (August Update 13/08/23) and in the Volla Help https://volla.online/en/faqs/ (How can I install another operating system?).
If on the Volla Phone "only" Ubuntu Touch is installed: Volla OS 11is available in UBports installer 0.10.0.
But: on the Volla Phone 22 MultiBoot can currently only be realized with Volla OS 11! With Volla OS 12 no MultiBoot can be realized. A Volla Phone 22 running Volla OS 12 lists additional operating systems, but cannot boot them. See also Volla Blog https://volla.online/en/blog/ (August Update 13/08/23): "... an update of the hardware abstraction layer is required for the Volla Phone 22 due to new device drivers ..."
How to get from Volla OS 12 back to Volla OS 11 is unclear to me. My attempts resulted in the Volla Phone 22 not booting anything after installing Volla OS (11) with UBports when Volla OS 12 was already installed! So be carefull.

                Thank you very much,

I contacted Volla, and they offered to install VollaOs themselves. The operation costs 25€ + postage.

So I chose this option, having already burned a phone, I'm wary!

I'll let you know which OS will be installed when I receive the phone.
                Best regards,
                Claudine

                  Well, that's that!
I received the phone with the following version:
                  12-20230911-Stable-mimameid

                  To be continued!
