Just upgraded but stuck on google screen

Hi, I just upgraded my Google Pixel 3a XL to whatever was available to be upgraded today (I am sure that I was in the stable channel). The UBports Recovery screen came up after rebooting and I selected Reboot but I just got the google screen and could not get any further. The UBports Recovery screen shows Halium 9 and Slot b at the bottom.
I see an option for Factory reset but would rather not do that unless that would be necessary.
I see the device being recognised in Kubuntu when I plug it in.
Should I try the UBports installer? -
@halucigenia Yes, try the installer band make sure you leave the wipe data option unticked.

Installer done, now on OTA-4. Had some issues and thought I broke it as the UBports Recovery screen disappeared after the first attempt but that might be normal? New UBports Recovery screen installed the next time.

I have the same (or similar) problem.
Now my phone is stuck : navigating with the buttons (power and volume) I reach only 2 screens : google logo + bootloader (without the options of the volume buttons).
My fault : I figured out that I forgot to downgrade to V9 android
(Am I wrong?).Yesterday I began this new OS installation and I spent 5 hours to not get it _ _ '
I don't know what to do now , my phone is dead or ...?
Please someone help me, thank you

@kandjou Can you get into fastboot mode, i.e. the bootloader?
If you can all, is not lost. You need some tools:
Fastboot and ADB drivers
Pixel 3a this version: 9.0.0 (PQ3B.190801.002, Aug 2019) from here
Pixel 3aXL this version: 9.0.0 (PQ3B.190801.002, Aug 2019) from here
Download the link file and extract it where your fastboot and adb files are. Open a terminal in that folder.
Then with the device connected at the bootloader screen to the PC run the flashall.sh file in the terminal.
Once Android is set up and working. Follow the instructions on the installer to install UT.

Im not getting it : there are a looot of files in this folder and it is a chaos for me
Yes Im in the fastboot mode but I don't understand what it is.
I see in the last line : "enter reason : error booting boot.img"When I plug it to my computer it puts "Android Device" then "Android Bootlaoder Interface" (Device Manager) but I don't know what to do with it...

They put that I did'nt instal the USB driver but I don't find it (HP).

For example without connecting to internet ??
