I purchased a nexus 4 with Ubuntu 15.4 installed just to have a ply ( only £24 ) . To my great surprise I plugged it in to the UBports Installer ().9.7) and it recognized the phone and updated the OS to 16.04 ota-25. I post here for two reasons

      1. say a big thanks
      2. just to say at the end of the install the request for feedback pops up so quick I did not have time to tread the screen that says that the phone is updating so I hit dismiss so I could see the instructions. So I'm giving feed back here.

      Again thank to all.

@DrRic Dated, but nice device. So easy to repair. Unfortunately as 3G mobile network is being removed, only 2G calls and WiFi. App support will be diminishing too as UT is moving on to Focal (20.04) and beyond.

@MrT10001 Just saw your interesting posts on the question of upgrading to focal. You obviously "know where you towel is " so do you mind if I ask you a question about the Nexus 4 ( like you I love the size and quality ) The gps does not appear to be working. Its not a problem as it does everything I want in a phone but I am curious as to if this is just something that is not implemented with Xenial on the Nexus 4? If it is "me" not the distro then I did read, while skimming the forums ( it could well have been you ), that cleaning the inside of the back can be a fix. Hope you don't mid me asking.
              All best

@DrRic Try that, there are some spring loaded contacts which could allude to a GPS antennae. I don't tend to use GPS (I was map and compass trained which came in very handy when GPS failed due to cloud cover). You may have to give it time to triangulate and obviously be outside.

@MrT10001 Thanks. Likewise I don't have a real use for GPS on my phone use it but its just compleatness , you now how it is. So I will whip the back off and have a try.
So this is all a bit of a first with me. As I said above first time user and I am just so impressed. Also I have never interacted witha forum before as the look so toxic. This look like a good place to "hang out". Thanks again. Im now off for a deep dive in to the documentaion
