Hello everyone,
I'm seeking assistance with installing Ubuntu on my Lenovo Tab M8 (TB-8505F). Here are the details of my device:
- Model: Lenovo Tab M8 (TB-8505F)
- Current OS: Android 13 (Stock was Android 10)
- RAM: 2GB
- Storage: 32GB
I've done some research but haven't found a clear guide or process for installing Ubuntu on this specific tablet model. I'd appreciate any guidance or resources that could help me with this installation. Specifically, I'm looking for:
- Bootloader Unlocking: Steps to unlock the bootloader on the Lenovo Tab M8.
- Custom Recovery: Recommendations for a compatible custom recovery (like TWRP) and how to install it.
- Ubuntu Installation: A detailed guide on how to install Ubuntu on this tablet, including any necessary files and configurations.
- Driver/Compatibility Issues: Information on potential driver or hardware compatibility issues and how to resolve them.
Any help, whether it's a full guide or links to resources, would be greatly appreciated. If you've successfully installed Ubuntu on this or a similar device, I'd love to hear about your experience and any tips you have.
Thank you in advance for your support!

@socialbox There is no port for this device on this installer. I cannot find a port for this device.
Unless you have the skills to create and install a port for this device which takes a lot of time and effort and requires maintaining, I am afraid you are out of luck.

@socialbox As far as I know, that is not a supported device, which means it can't currently be installed. Are you planning to port it?
Also this section is for new developers, so I will move your post into the Lenovo section.

There is a port for this device now. I am not sure how well it works, but just installed it myself.

@socialbox This seems to be a port that is in progress. Instructions on installing and helping out with testing are here.
