I had to reinstall on Focal to free up space as it wouldn't allow me to do anything at all. I have reported it as a bug.

I did a Reinstall without deleting user data and it stayed pretty much the same.
Tried wiping /cache and /tmp and it didn't help either

I don't have the Redmi Note 7 but the Note 9 Pro. But the storage space was not displayed correctly in Xiaomi's UT anyway. With the predecessor model Redmi Note 9 it was the same with the storage space. However, I always deleted the data completely during a new installation. You can also reset your data with the UT program on the PC without losing it
