        Good evening everybody,

I have this Sony Xperia 3G smartphone, model: XQ-AU51, serial-number: QV7223PM3A, currently running on Android version 12, Base-band version: nicobar.gen.prodQ-00004-31, Kernel version: 4.14.190-perf+, Build number: 59.2.A.0.422

Is it possible to port this device safely to Ubuntu Touch...?!? Thank you for your time and effort...

P.S. It's really nothing urgent, you may take your sweet time with my post! Thanks again!

        P.P.S.
I've managed to find the exact specifications of the phone at the link below: It's a Sony Xperia 10 II

If you have the skills and the time to make this new port, it's probably possible. You can start by reading the porting guide. https://docs.ubports.com/en/latest/porting

          Is currently using an Op5t
Also owns an Op1, a BQ E4.5 and an Xperia X, as well as a BQ tablet and a Pinetab2. Please, someone... make it stop.

            @Moem

I had already read a good portion of the porting guide up till the Halium versions available for Android based phones... hence I decided to seek help through this post!

So apparently the "latest" Halium version available is Halium 11, which is synonymous for Android ver. 11... as stated in the original post the Sony Xperia 10 II, I have, has already Android ver. 12, installed! Can Halium ver. 11, also be used to port from Android ver. 12...?!?

Furthermore... when accessing the Lineage OS Wiki link and when looking for Sony Xperia devices, under the only two models of Sony Xperia listed over there, namely the Xperia 10(kirin) & Xperia 10 PLUS(mermaid), my specific phone model isn't listed... namely the "XQ-AU51"...!!!

So for the Xperia 10(kirin), when accessing the phone model(https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/kirin/) and scrolling down to "Supported models" section, you only get the following models displayed:
            I3113
            I3123
            I4113
            I4193

Same goes for Xperia 10 PLUS(mermaid) model(https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/mermaid/), scroll down to "Supported models" section, and you only see:
            I3213
            I3223
            I4213
            I4293

Thus, apparently my Xperia 10 II, Model: "XQ-AU51", may simply be too modern! Going even further and accessing the "Don't see yours?" link, you get redirected to this link: https://wiki.lineageos.org/faq#the-list-of-supported-models-for-my-device-doesnt-contain-a-specific-one-i-need-can-i-still-use-it

Reading through it, you eventually arrive at this section in the guide:
Quoting: "My device is not on the device list, but it is just the same as that other model. Can I use it?"

If your device is not listed, it’s not supported.
“The same” is not “equal” which means it needs a separate build

Quoting: "I read somewhere/was told that you support my device?"
If it’s on this list, we do, otherwise not

P.S. I eagerly await any further ideas/guidance... thank you very much for your time & dedication!!!
            P.P.S. Live long & prosper!(Peace!)

@Moktrull Okay, now please clear this up for me...
are you looking to install UT to your device, or to port it?
Porting means creating new installation files for a device that was previously not supported, so that it can be installed.

If what you want to know is:
Can the existing installation files be used on the Xperia 10 II?
Then the answer is no, they cannot. It has to be the exact same device with the same model number that is on our list.

Also owns an Op1, a BQ E4.5 and an Xperia X, as well as a BQ tablet and a Pinetab2. Please, someone... make it stop.

Well, obviously I was hoping to port it at first, then install and use Ubuntu Touch on the above mentioned device, yes that's my goal!

I'm not just simply looking to port it and then what...?!? Leave it as it is...?!?

Okay, all good, just making sure you know the difference between porting and installing... some people get those mixed up.

                    Hi @Moktrull,

The Sony Xperia 10 II is a so-called AOSP (Android Open Source Project) and therefore suitable for a port for the UbuntuTouch OS.

In the important websites for such a port, the device is listed with the code name <seine>.

The following Android ports can be made possible: 10 / 11 / 12.

It is advisable to get in touch with our porting community < https://t.me/ubports_porting >.

Man, you guys have no Discord community of your own...?!? 😵
I hate Telegram, have no account and neither looking to create one!!!
#Discord is so much better and advanced, you can leave messages for days, weeks, months and still can answer them afterwards... tons of options & functionality extra, etc. etc.

Still... I wish you to "Live long & prosper!" Cheers...
