Re: Bootloop on Xiaomi Mi A2 after upgrade from 16.04 OTA -24 to 20.04 OTA -1

If you carry out an upgrade, clean install or have a new install on the Xiaomi Mi A2, this may resolve to issue.

The device has two slots, slot a and slot b.

When bootlooping, it might be booting to the wrong slot.

To resolve try this, it may stop the bootloop:

This involves changing the slot, so put the device in fastboot mode.

Then attach to a PC with fastboot and ADB installed and open a terminal (Command Prompt) in the fastboot folder.

        Type in ./fastboot getvar current-slot
This will tell you which slot is active. If slot a is active, change it to slot b and vice versa.

        Use this command:
        ./fastboot --set-active=a or ./fastboot --set-active=b

Reboot the phone and hopefully you will boot into UT.
