I want to make my old One Plus phone to be used by my granddaughter who is about 18 months old. I want to turn off all the access to make any and all telephone calls. Obviously I would also want to control all of the apps that are installed or modified.

So, my question does this operating system allow me to NOT to install a phone calling application? I don't want access to 911 or any other way to make a phone call. With this operating system, will I be able to control everything on this phone by not displaying the settings app on the home screen?

I appreciate your help with my questions.

@dman Maybe I'm missing something, but would it not be easiest not to insert a simcard?

          Is currently using an Op5t
Also owns an Op1, a BQ E4.5 and an Xperia X, as well as a BQ tablet and a Pinetab2. Please, someone... make it stop.

@Moem It is designed so it will still dial 911 with no SIM.

For me though, I would not give a child that age a smart phone as I have bore witness to them going down toilets, being put in buckets of water and getting thrown down resulting in a smashed screen. Better off with a tablet and a big thick kid case. They see the screen a lot better and playing games is easier, plus no phone access.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7.... And more...
            I have too many devices...

@Moem From what I understand, 911 calls can still be made without a simcard?

@MrT10001 I appreciate your advise, but either one a tablet or a phone can end up in the toilet. It does not matter size of the device. Both are large enough to not be able to be flushed. If it ends up in the toilet, no big deal. This is an OLD phone. I have more old ones. 🙂
