I've been trying to sort this out for going on two weeks and here's what I've learned,

upon booting up it briefly flashes to LTE and then back to 2g where it stays, running test configuration shows this:

if I can catch it fast enough after boot it will have an additional like reading technology changed to LTE, before going to searching.
I also spends some amount of time in the denied state, trying to pick up LTE before it goes back to searching/2G

As far as I can tell my APN settings and hardware are working fine, as they worked when I flashed my phone back to the /e/OS it came with (I got it from murena with their OS installed) and I could connect to the network and got 4 and 5G data without issue. I've attached the output of list-contexts and list-modems here: radio-debug.txt

the journal file for ofono is this, looped for the entire uptime of the phone

and this is the output of nmcli connection show "T-Mobile US" in case it's handy

if anyone has any input or advice on where to start hunting next or has run into this problem before I'd really appreciate it

I forgot to include the nmcli output: nmcli-show.txt
