install ubutu touch on pocco x3 failed
-
Hello everybody,
I bought a pocco x3 NFC to install ubuntu touch on it. With a friend now we try since many many hours/days to install it, but it din’t work.
It seems to stuck in „Rebooting to fastboot“
The pocco is unlockt with mii unlocktool
The Ubports Installer is (0.11.2)
We waited 60 minutes, but the UB installer shows only „rebooting to fastboot“ and nothing happend.
Some of you wrote, is better to install it from Android 10. Is this correkt, because in the main installer advice is recomed from Android 12
(We use: surya_global_images_V12.0.9.0.QJGMIXM_20210508.0000.00_10.0_global)If is better from Android 10, can somebody give me the link?
Whats the best Rom to USS and have somebody a link?
UB installer is Windows 11, is it from Linux better to install?
Could Windows 11 firewall cuse a problem
Do I have install special settings in the UB installer, or is there a better one?

@Blablub
MIUI surya_global_images_V12.0.9.0.QJGMIXM is the correct android 10 version to use.Please take a look at troubleshooting section of https://forums.ubports.com/topic/10392/ubuntu-touch-installation-guide-for-xiaomi-poco-x3-nfc-x3
Some users report that they have not been able to install Ubuntu Touch from Windows (10 & 11), but that they have been able to do so with Linux.

Thanks Eric,
thanks for your help.
Now we were, or were not a bit futher!?
-
we "ignore" a bug during download (Bug code one error fast boot flash code one petiton not fund)
-
Then we could coose from four options, on the phone option, I cant find them anymore.
Than we had the follow option:
-
reboot system now
-
factory rest
-
advance:
-> enter fastboot
-> reboot to boatloader
-> reboot to recovery
-> mount/system
-> view recoveryloks
-> run grafik test
-> rund lokal test
-> enter rescure
-> power of
In another round we could choose from
-
reboot system now
-
faktory reset
-+ advance:
-> enter fastboot
-> reboot to boatloader
-> reboot to recovery
-> mount/system
->view recoveryloks
-> run grafik test
-> rund lokal test
-> enter rescure
-> power of
At the end ubuntu said, it is installed, but it wans´t intalled.

@Blablub
The issue is probably due to the partition not found (in your first error).
I suggest to reflash android 10 with miaomi flash tool to restore all partitions (do not relock the phone).
Then reinstall Ubuntu Touch -
we now switched to linux and first it starts proberly, but now it seems to hang from file 3 to file 4
-
@Eric-H said in install ubutu touch on pocco x3 failed:
reflash android 10 with miaomi flash tool to restore all partitions
Mybe we shut do (reflash android 10 with miaomi flash tool to restore all partitions) under linux as well?!
-
@Blablub
Yes, you can tryflash_all.sh
script.
If no error, retry UT installation -
where do we run this order
-
@Blablub
After extracting the tgzipped MUI ROM, the flash_all.sh script is in the newly created folder. -
Ok, we succeed
to everybody wants to install ubuntu touch on windows 11.
We tryed it minimum two days and it din not work.With linux it was so easy!!!
Thanks a lot Eric for your help: kissing_heart:

@Blablub Used Windows 11 to install on POCO X3 NFC with no issues at all. There have been issues with install version 0.11.2 with some devices, version 0.10.0 still works fine. Really glad you got it installed and enjoy UT.

@MrT10001
In order to update the installation guide, what are the requirements to install UT on poco X3 from windows 11 ?
Latest version of fastboot/adb ? Drivers ?
Where to download them ? -
@Eric-H The same as on Linux. It just worked on my Windows 11 PC. There are times when the installer failed to download files which using a VPN on the PC sorted out, but this device hasn't caused me any bother to install to.
