Installer doesn't work

Re: How I installed on the OnePlus 6t (long read)
So I can not get the installer to work. Everytime I use it it just boots into recovery and that's it. I followed the post above and got UBT to bolt.
But then there was no way to see version number, and under updates there was no cog to change the release and update image.
Its a normal 6t and I had UBT on it before, but I went to postmarket os for awhile and used msmtool to go back and am now trying for UBT again with no avail.Am I missing something. I've tried the installer on a Ubuntu machine running the latest installer and on windows with the latest and 8.8 beta.

@FrostDaemon The UT installer is now on 0.11.2 and it works for this device. You have put the device back to Android 9 and unlocked the bootloader?
-
@MrT10001 that's what I thought. I have 11.2, used msmtool back to 9 and then unlocked bootloader, enabled USB debugging then tried the installer.
I wasn't sure if maybe something else needed done since I had postmarket on it.
Also even once UBT was booted the installer wouldn't recognize the phone. And with UB installed that way there was no recovery, when I booted recovery it just went straight to the OS.

I tried again last night.
Msmtool back to android
Installed stock android 9 zip file from oneplus website using local update.
Unlock bootloader
Go back into android allow USB debugging
Try to flash with installer, it goes really fast on
Flashing fimrware
Then starts the downloads at 10 of 14 and goes from there and pushes Ubuntu touch files.Puts into UB recovery, then if I reboot or do anything it just goes the bootloader is unlocked screen unless I reboot in fastboot.
I tried on a windows machine and a Ubuntu machine. Used 11.2 and on the windows one tried the 11.2 and 8.8.
Tried flashing UB 20 and 24 both did the same thing. -
@FrostDaemon Try installer version 0.10.0. Clear your downloads cache on the installer as well.

@MrT10001 I tried again
Msmtool
Local update android 9 from oneplus
Unlock bootloader
Allow debugging and check always allow for that computer
Used installer 10.0 cleared cache firstThis time it started by downloading 2 files, then flashed firmware in like 2 seconds, had me reboot to recovery and started the download on 11 of 14 and went through. Booted hung on UB lineage logo then went to recovery.
Same result on windows and Ubuntu machines, two different laptops. Used USB 2.0 and 3.0 and different cables with no avail.
The next thing I'll try when I get off today is to do a fresh Ubuntu install on a different laptop and try that.
Could it be the android 9 zip I'm using from oneplus website ?
I'm really confused because I've installed UB on this device before with no issues from the installer.

@FrostDaemon Looks like your ROM may be at fault. I got mine from here:
-
@MrT10001 awesome I'll try one of those. Should I use the lowest one the 9.0.4 I think I saw ?
-
@MrT10001 none of the download links work for android 9 sadly. I'll look for other downloads.
-
@FrostDaemon They are working for me. I also used the Android 9 downgrade zip. It does the job well.
-
@MrT10001 got it to download, had to edit my etc/host file and add the oneplus site IP.
But it went right back into recovery again.
I'll try some more stuff tomorrow since I'm off.Thank you for the help so far, I really appreciate it.

@FrostDaemon Try going above Android 9 and then use the rollback zip ROM to roll back. Don't use TWRP to install the zip.
