UBports Foundation Elections.

Just a reminder that the election process for Directors and Membership Committee of the Foundation is underway. It is a vital part of the Foundation and Ubuntu Touch.
If you do qualify to stand for either the BoD or Membership Committee please do take the time to fully consider standing and helping in the running and future of the Foundation.

Dear member of the Board of Trustees,

With this message we announce elections for the UBports Board of
Directors and for the UBports Membership Committee. The elections will
take place from the 21st of May 2026 at 00:00 UTC until the 24th of May 2026 at 23:59:59 UTC via email only.

Who is needed?

a) Board of Directors
We do need a minimum of five (5) and a maximum of seven (7) members for the Board of Directors. There can be up to three (3) substitutes.
b) Membership Committee
We do need three (3) members for the Membership Committee, and up to
three (3) substitutes.

Notes:

1. In our experience, the need for substitutes is important. People have had significant life changes that prevented them from continuing until the normal duration of the mandate ended. So please consider applying for either the Board of Directors or/and Membership Committee;

2. You can only be either a member of the Board of Directors or Membership Committee, but you can nominate yourself for both. If you get elected on both, you'll need to choose on which of them you'll exercise your duty (substitutes can choose when needed);

Candidacy:

Every member of the Board of Trustees at the time of the announcement of the elections can nominate themselves for candidacy. If you've
received this email, you are eligible to nominate yourself. If you think you are not eligible, please contact us. Starting today up until the 17th May 2026 at 23:59:59 UTC, you may nominate yourselves for election by sending an email to membership@ubports.com stating that you wish to be listed as a candidate.

The Process:

On May 18, 2026, UTC, the list of candidates will be sent via email to all eligible members of the Board of Trustees. And recourse can be done until the
19th of May 23:59:59 UTC.

Voting will be performed using a Single Transferable Vote system, counted using Meek's method. Candidates with the highest preference are deemed to have been elected until the predefined number of members has been reached. The other elected candidates act as substitute members.

Your vote is a list of candidate names in your desired order. Voting starts on 21st of May 2026 at 00:00:00 UTC and closes on 24th of May 2026 at 23:59 UTC (no votes received after this date and time will be accepted). Results will be announced after counting has been completed.
