I contacted the guy who succeeded in installing UT on a pixel 9a to ask if this is going to be a real port. He answered the following:

"I’m slowly working on moving my mess of local repositories with untracked changes to git repositories with CI builds so the whole thing is reproducible. I‘m hoping that I’ll find some time in the next weeks to wrap that up.

Afterwards, it depends on if I can make the install procedure beginner friendly or not. I’ll need to look into the Halium recovery. So no promises from my side for a real port. I‘d like to see it, but maybe someone else will need to build on top of what I have."

The code is available here now: https://git.deusch.me/ubports/device-google-tegu

For now, this is more of an experiment than a real port, but there are instructions for flashing in the repo if you‘re brave.

A disclaimer: there’s AI generated code involved and I can’t vouch for the quality of the patches. Most notably, I had some keyboard crashes that are likely related to the pulseaudio code not properly cleaning up its resources. I didn’t have time to look into that yet.

@messayisto calls show up and you can respond or hang up, but there’s no audio, so you can’t hear anything and the one on the other side also can’t hear you. So not usable, but it partially works.
