@thofli Mee too, I just bought an used Nexus 5 to run Ubuntu because I've seen many demo videos on YouTube and they seemed to work fine

Yes, I've tried today and I confirm that it's broken

That's great! Which branch, rc-proposed or devel_rc-proposed?
-
Hi Mates ;-))
Could you be more precise please ?
What's working ?
Calls ?
Web browser ?
Apps ?See you !
-
@maxmax Yesss! The devel_rc-proposed works! Web browser and other apps can correctly connect to the web, I'm so happy, this system is so cool
-
COOOooool !
Is someone tested it on LG Nexus 5 ?:-))
-
@izd I just have this morning. Indeed the browser works, but I've found a few issues. WiFi authentication no longer works for me. In previous versions I was able to log in to my secured networks, but using the latest updates I could only connect to an unsecured guest network. I also have found that the Browser crashes regularly doing fairly simple browsing tasks.
-
@dehuszar Thank you for feedbacks :-))
Unfortunately, because this is my only smartphone now, I will wait and follow yours tests ;-))
(Last time I flashing the device, I missed sms and calls for work... )See You !

Hi guys, I tested the devel_rc-proposed image for an entire day and sadly there are many other issues:
- Incoming calls and messages don't work at all
- Web browser is buggy
- Shutdown and restart work but the system loses many settings
Other things like social apps, scopes, etc work very well, I do like this OS but at the moment is far from being daily usable
-
@giovanni-longo bad news...
Is someone know the roadmap or where to found it ?See You !
-
@izd Here's the bug -list we found on #ubuntu-offtopic
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/webbrowser-app/
Also here: at No. 78th https://errors.ubuntu.com/
Good Luck dudes !

@below-freezing Great links !!!
Thanks you mate :-)) -
I have installed ubuntu touch on my Nexus 5 since the Ubuntu 2 released. I have updated Ubuntu from 11 to 12 from the stable branch.
Everytime I can see improvement (more apps, less buggy) but it is still not daily usable for me. First, the browser and all webapp (wordreference, Qwant, DuckduckGo...) aren't working (same as described in the first post here, it launches and quits). Second, caldav and carddav are still very difficult to use (very unfriendly).
So, for now, I'll keep using Firefox OS.
I'll keep watching progress as we can read some hope here and there : https://opensourceforu.com/2017/01/ubuntu-touch-gets-full-compatibility-nexus-5/ -
Of the Ubports channels for N5 devel_rc-proposed is definitely the better choice at this point in time.
-
@Thatoo Thanks for the link. Sound promising, as M. Gripsgard also mentions...:

As said at https://opensourceforu.com/2017/01/ubuntu-touch-gets-full-compatibility-nexus-5/ : "And for Nexus 5 that's now a fully working device, I even use it as my daily driver at the moment :)"
Really ? There is a fully usable build now ?
See You ;-))

I've tried the 217 on devel_rc-proposed, and almost everything works fine (just one restart) except that I can't receive phone call (which is a problem for a phone :-).
I have a feeling that soon, we'll be able to switch (me from Firefox OS) to Ubuntu touch. -
:-))

New builds !!!!
/ubuntu-touch/devel_stable/hammerhead ==> Version 14 (OTA-14 ?)
/ubuntu-touch/devel_rc-proposed/hammerhead ==> Version 219Someone tested it ?
