      Hi
I've been using Ubuntu phone on Nexus 5 for almost 20 months
Few days ago I've heard about
      http://news.softpedia.com/news/nexus-5-now-a-fully-working-ubuntu-phone-fairphone-2-gets-voice-call-support-511448.shtml
I got really excited and tried to install Libertine: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Libertine
After few problems with installing core packages I can download programs like firefox or GIMP, but none of them is really working. They are showing in "Desktop Apps" scope, but when I try to launch any of them, they show an icon for a short time and then close itself.
Did anybody succesfully used Desktop apps on Nexus 5, and now, how to make it work?
      Sorry for my english

@Asiek777 said in Libertine and Desktop Apps on Nexus 5:

Can you elaborate on the problems and on how you did install? The more information, the more likely someone can help you.

Do you see any useful logfiles in ~/.cache/upstart/ ?

I have gedit, transmission, gimp, xournal and firefox. All of them launch and are usable. None of them crash in the way you describe.

If I remember it right, I just installed the scope from the store, and used libertine-container-manager via ssh to create the container and install packages.

          Hi same problem here.

Installed following steps described https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Libertine via ssh

Logfiles in ~/.cache/upstart/ from Desktop Apps all with same error :

          (EE) ^M
          Fatal server error:^M
(EE) Failed to connect to Mir: Failed to connect: not accepted by server^M
          (EE) ^M
          (EE) ^M

          any idea?

          Thanks in advance

I've also the same problem with exactly the same upstart log. The desktop apps in a libertine container crash on start. I've already filed a bug report. Have you already found a solution?

Same problem here (as well as at https://forums.ubports.com/topic/262/desktop-apps/69 and at https://github.com/ubports/ubuntu-touch/issues/22, for reference).

              Cheers

I have this issue too. Is there a workaround?
