This is getting interesting.
The good thing for us Ubuntu Touch users is that the Duopoly Apple & Google operating systems might just loose their Duopoly in the world. So more people/companies/vendors might look for an alternatives and maybe willing to contribute to FOSS... -
I agree: fragmentation of the marketplace ought to be good for UT: an imperative being that we need to get it on hardware at point of sale.
(I have been half expecting an announcement from Micro$oft too, suggesting they might have another go.)
