Fairphone 3 (FP3)

I am missing step -1 and 0 in your list
- -1: download halium boot: download
- 0: boot into fastboot mode and flash halium-boot.img to boot:
fastboot flash boot halium-boot.img
You can flash the boot image also after the other steps.
-
@Luksus the link does not working
-
@007fred50 No?
just click download icon in the top-right-corner:
-
@Luksus i cant download the file and yes i press that on your photo. i use firefox mabye google?
-
@Luksus it works in google chrome, not firefox
-
@007fred50 Ok, strange... also Firefox works here.
Here is a Backup: https://wetransfer.com/downloads/487f27f65509f5362c89c4f5b6af266520201103162301/b231644a4c5bd80589b7066bec161d4c20201103162329/af0d81 (only for 7 days) -
@Luksus i downloaded the file and
fastboot flash boot halium-boot.img
but still stuck in boot logo (fairphone 3+) -
@007fred50
wait, what is that? step6: install image inside ubports_GSI_installer_v10.zip->data->system.imgYou just should install the whole zip over the sideload function.
-
@Luksus so i dont need step6? and what is (sideload function.) ?
-
@Luksus but are you sure it will work on (fairphone 3 plus) ???
-
@007fred50 did you read the "Flash" section in the first post?
You just need to follow it.I have no reason, to believe, that it would not work on FP3+.
It's just an updated camera module in it, no? -
@Luksus i buy the phone as (Fairphone 3 +) no upgrade
i just flash boot first. then twrp with ubports_GSI_installer_v10.zip
-

It's also a new audio module. And IIRC from the live event Q&A session of the FP3+ launch there's probably also "some" change in the core module (because they said upgrading the audio module wouldn't have an effect on the FP3).
But then, the hardware related changes should be in the vendor partition. So if I understood the concept of GSI correctly, the GSI system is supposed to work.
-
@Ingo I can't find any information about core-module differences, only something about improved "audio performance". This could just mean the 2db more output on the sound-module or something different...
@007fred50 it comes to my mind, that the FP3+ is shipped with Android 10. Is that the case, in your case? If so, you would need to downgrade to Android 9, before trying to get the GSI running...
-
@Luksus my Android is 10.
why shall i downgrade to android 9 ? i use TWRP

I'm not aware of any written information about it, either. They ran two Q&A live video sessions (IIRC on youtube and facebook). It must be somewhere in those streams.
About downgrading: the new modules are not supported with Android 9. Several people learned that the hard way when they installed the /e/ version for FP3 based on Android 9 on their FP3+.
-
@007fred50 because the port and GSI is based on Halium 9, which requires Android 9.
-
@Luksus how can i downgrade my OS ?
-
@007fred50 I assume you just need to flash a stock rom:
https://forum.fairphone.com/t/twrp-installable-stock-firmware-packages-for-fairphone-3/57219download (I would take the second one), unpack, boot phone into fastboot, execute flash_stock.sh, reboot to fastboot, flash_stock.sh again (to flash a- and b-partitions).
-
Found something about the core module: https://forum.fairphone.com/t/speaker-module-from-fp3/64728
At the moment the Fairphone Forum is down for maintenance, though.
