I am getting audio out of the bottom phone speakers + ear-speaker for all audio playback on podcasts, YouTube (in Morph) and Music app. However, when I am on a phone call the audio comes out of the ear-speaker only (as it should). Is anyone else getting this problem?

I haven't really be able to confirm if the audio comes out of all speakers in speaker phone mode since my mic doesn't seem to be working during speakerphone mode. I will update when on this aspect a little bit later.

Still on OTA-15 at the moment.

@standupmobile Thanks for confirming this is not just a behaviour on my phone. My only concern is that playing audio at near or full volume via the earspeaker can't be good for its longevity. I would much rather the audio for media related use come out of the speakers that are designed for that sprcific use-case.

I am running stable channel on my 3a

From a quick Internet search it looks like the Pixel 3a has Stereo speaker output which means it uses the bottom speakers as one channel and the ear piece speaker as the other. It makes more sense when you are using the phone in portrait mode. I would guess it still sounds better than mono over a single channel even if the ear piece doesn't have the dynamic range of the lower speakers.

OnePlus One with UT OTA-15 daily driver. I would be testing the Halium 7.1 port if I could roll back to OTA-15

@antidroid thanks for looking into that. A rather odd design decision but happy to know that also means they likely used an earspeaker that should tolerate high volumes.
