I checked on ubuntu devices and it says
        Camera:
        :cross_mark:Flashlight
        :cross_mark:Photo
        :cross_mark:Video
        :cross_mark:Switching between cameras
But on my neo+ everything is working(And very laggy).. Is it outdated info on ubuntu devices or what?

Yes, the camera also works for me. The flash also works. But you can't make a video. The application always crashes when trying to shoot a video. Only photos can be taken.

I have six S3 Neo's and on all one of the cameras doesn't work, usually the rear. On one of the phones the rear camera works, but the front does not.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7.... And more...
              I have too many devices...

the same here. S3 Neo+. Camera app says it doesn't has the right to access the camera and somehow I can't change the Zugriffsrechte (whatever that may be in english).
Before one of the two cameras worked - no none works. When the camera stopped working (which update) - i can't tell.

I installed the latest available (stable) image on my old S3Neo. It took a long time until everything was working, except the "camera".
To be honest, this must be described in more detail.
First of all, when I switch on the camera it shows a picture and I can switch between front and rear side.
I can make a picture, store it and display it.
I can make a video, at the end it starts indicating the recording but then nothing is stored.
Since I have a running ubuntu touch pad I know the critical situation for the video handling: only a few codecs are installed with limited options.
So I did some comparison and found the following details:
apparmor rights: equal on both devices
access rights : (in saftey and security-> app rights) camera in S3Neo: nothing; camera in tablet: 1
After making the video, a file name was created in the camera folder with file length 0.

So I copied a video which was created on my tablet and tried to play it. The log file says: "codec x_h264 not found".

Is it possible, that the codec is not shipped in the image or that it is blocked by other access restrictions?

@hoh61 No the problem lies in the Android container and its proprieatary drivers. The Ubuntu side of things is fine since video recording and playback works well on other devices.

Please do understand that currently there will be not much investment into this device, because there is only a handful of users, its rather slow compared to others which makes the Ubuntu Touch experience very limited, and it is based now on Android 5.1 and a very old kernel, which will create a ton of issues for the 20.04 upgrade.

After we upgrade to 20.04 we will focus on devices mainly based on Android 9 and above, and only after all those that we want to lift up, there will be time to look at older ones.

Please understand that, we have so limited resources, and we need to look on hardware that people want to buy in a shop, with preinstalled UT, rather than only having support for devices that you can buy as used. Our partners are targeting Android 10, 11 and 12 now, and we need to expedite our efforts to support those hardware pieces.
