Installer reports BQ M10 FHD as "Unsupported"
-
ubports-installer on Linux fails on BQ Aquaris M10 FHD.
First reports that "BQ_AQUARIS_M10_FHD is not a supported device"
So i choose the manual device option and select BQ Aquaris M10 FHD and continue.
Then says "frieza is an unsupported device".
I bought this BQ M10 FHD with Ubuntu Touch on it originally. Had installed the BQ Android image and now I am returning it back to the new UB Ports build.
I did set the developer mode
I did set USB debugging
I did turn off the OEM LockDid boot into fastboot as the installer instructed.
Please advise.

@edwaleni You must first flash the OEM Ubuntu Edition image to the device, so that it has the proper partitioning and identifier. The instructions in the installer should state this, I think.

@dobey Thanks Dobey, it did ask me that the first time I tried and it failed, I restarted the installer program and it went right to detection mode for fast boot. I will restart the process and accept the preload again and see if it takes.

Very strange.
I get an Android boot screen with text overlaid that says:
"Orange State"
"Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted"
"Your device will boot in 5 seconds"An Ubuntu logo appears for about 1.5 seconds and then goes to the boot menu.
I am going to go back and download the original Ubuntu Touch image and flash it via ADB and Odin.

@edwaleni You might want to read this if you didn't:

I went back and installed the original Ubuntu Touch with the SPFlash Tool and was able to update to the latest UBPorts version using the desktop app with no issues after that. Thanks for the prompt feedback everyone.
With BQ formally out of business now, it will give my M10FHD some extended life. I still remember how excited I was when it arrived from Spain here in the US way back when.
I will send a donation to the UB Ports Team as soon as I finish checking everything out.
