Hey All,
I have this super annoying issue where convergence works only the first time I plug in my hdmi cable and then every other time I just get a black screen. Restarting lightdm makes it work again so I believe its an issue with the compositor.
I I can see in the logs everything seems to be loading properly and the screen is loading, it just seems unity inst moving across so I was wondering if there are any handy tools for debugging and testing with the Unity System Compositor?Any assistance appreciated.

unity-system-compositor's log should normally be in
/var/log/lightdm/unity-system-compositor.log. You may find the accompanyinglightdm.login that folder useful depending on the error. unity8's log should be in~/.cache/upstart/unity8.logand might have some useful information as well.
