[Beta] Pixel 2 installer config

@moem
Well if you search forum you'll see i'm not the only one doing that, even if sure i'm quite active here so lot of recent entries are from me.
It's been quite from the beginning of Ubuntu Touch that this "compressed" name was used (maybe because of some things like that, who knows...).Now like you say, if using it make people here inconfortable i'll no longer use it with no problem.

@Flohack thanks for the explanation.
I just thought this comment was unnecessary and out of context. I'm an outsider, don't particularly care (no offense, I detest arguments about labels), and if the project has naming issues perhaps it should be addressed with branding and not forum posts.
Regardless! This is a pixel 2 thread. You were right about the battery. It didn't even last 12 hours for me with just wifi on with nextcloud/caldav and dekko/imap sync.
The good thing is bluetooth etc works fine for audio so far and I was able to pull up a video to watch via jellyfin/jellyfUn. I had no visible issues on install as a user who doesn't know specifics to look for.
It's otherwise sluggish but bearable for a first build. Some of the battery is likely due to age and wear as well, I was pretty rough on this thing. Never been a fan of its USB-C port anyway, always had trouble with charging cables.

Pixel 2 is back in the installer, AFAIK it works well enough to be tested with it
-
@flohack Just installed it. So far looking good. Install went flawlessly. No hiccups. Network connected straight away. I will run through my usual app install and see how that goes.
-
Have tested it with a SIM (O2 based). Full SMS and calls working. Clear sound, no loss of screen or screen lock. Texts all sending and receiving correctly. WiFi stable and no drop outs. Volume is good for me (it may vary for others) on the call. Battery life is not good, have charged it to 100% twice today, but it is an old phone and if you replace the battery on a Pixel phone, expect to replace the screen too (very delicate). Indicator LED for charging, messages etc is working.
Booted straight up from cold with no issues being stuck at bootloader. -
@mrt10001 How is the touchscreen responsiveness on yours? I'm getting ghost touches and the like.
-
@bifpowers Should not be an issue and is also out of scope of Ubuntu Touch. We do not mess with the touch screen but just get it as input device from the kernel driver. You might want to check with an Android ROM to see if you have a physical problem
-
@flohack The touchscreen worked on the last Android ROM, so I will flash an Android 9 ROM and see where things are at. Hopefully a reinstall will fix it. Thank you for the help.
-
@bifpowers Hi, sorry for the late reply, work has taken over at the moment. The touchscreen is really good, no issues.
-
@mrt10001 That's good. I'm going to try and start over, and see if that fixes it.
