Google Pixel 3aXL: my report so far
-
It has been several month since me and my son installed UT on my used GP3aXL. We used “Bonito” instead of “Sargo”. I don’t remember the second build (?) we used, but it was not a big deal. It took us only two tries to get it right. Sorry I can not be clearer about this.
Well… this is how it is going so far:Battery live: good enough. A charge takes care of the day.
Charging: I’ve noticed It takes less time to fully charge when using my iPhone’s charger cube than when I use a regular charger. Maybe I need to buy a charger for Google Pixel.
Networking: No issues.
Bluetooth: It pairs with everything Android based (Apple is a different story as you should know), including my car’s bluetooth system (Chevy Traverse).
Camera: No issues. I’ve recently attended a light show (at night) and took several photos. I was pleased. Also I’ve taken pictures in my yard for testing and I was satisfied. At the beginning I did not know how to handle the camera and I thought there was a problem with the application. It’s fine.
Video Recording: The image quality is good. The sound is very low.
Sound Recording: It works but sound is very low.
Contacts: I was able to sync all my contacts from a vcf file downloaded from iCloud, transferred to my Pixel and pulled from the Contacts app.
Clock: Alarm clock working fine.
Music and Media Players apps working fine.
I’ve been using other apps but I don’t think it is relevant information at this point.
Carrier: H2O (AT&)
Calls: Regular phone calls are great. Unable to use speaker phone since my voice is almost inaudible to the other end. Someone described it like a very low and robot like voice.
MMS and SMS: For MMS is confusing since I can send messages with pictures but I can not receive replies to those messages on the Pixel. They come to my iPhone instead. Same for SMS but at the same time I have to say that I can receive text messages from services for authentication on the Pixel, but if it is a personal thing I can not receive the text reply on my Pixel. It would go to the iPhone instead. The iPhone is connected to my WIFI network and not to any carrier at the moment. It used to be Verizon but I canceled the service a week ago. Currently working around this MMS issue by using TELEports and mywebtelegram.
Internet Browsing: No issues with connection thru the carrier of my WIFI network. Morph is doing well. There’s some shaking on it when in YouTube. Also there’s some picture scaling problems when placed horizontally. Same for videos on Vimeo.
