        on ubuntu pc, with xperia compact x:

        starting with android 8, flashed twrp, removed all data.
        then flashed oem binaries 'loire'. got an 'ok' on all of these - great.

        When running ubports - starts up great, nice blue light, picks the right phone, but just when downloading packages the phone disconnects. Not a cable issue - did not touch it, different cables, different ports, all the same: reboot at about at file 8 or 10. If I reconnect (cold start, boot, blue light) ubports does not recognize the phone is back on connection.

        Tried ubports 0.8.8 and 0.8.9, same result. Tried also the oem v17, tone, still nothing.

        On the phone is a tool 'ubrecovery', but there are no img files I could use.

        I do have a micro SD to move files, if necessary. Any idea on how to get this to work, please?

            @mario-ch

            I actually downloaded 4 versions of the OEM after I read the post, and numbered them. Then went through the whole spiel with fastboot, wipe, twrp, oem, ubports.

            it worked with
            TWRP 36090 kugo
            OEM SW AOSP v08 loire
            UBports 0.8.9.
            and some patience.
            Finalizing install now, thanks a lot!

              @andi-again I'm glad you didn't give up and managed to install U-Touch.
              Top is that you have also published your way, for all new who try it and also have problems (or just not).
              Thanks a lot.

                @andi-again I'm having the exact same issue. Do you mind elaborating a bit on what exactly you did to fix this?

                  I think I had the same problem. Phone just kept rebooting after ubuntu installer flashed the recovery. I solved reflashing TWRP and then I cleared system, data and cache. After this procedure, the phone never rebooted again.
